Dit jaar presenteert de galerie Progress Artspace zich voor de eerste keer op een groot populair festival… namelijk A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise.

Met RESPOND/REACT word door deze jonge maar reeds gerenommeerde galerie een brug geslagen tussen de zogenaamde “ High” en “Low” culture en gaan diverse kunstdisciplines een kruisbestuiving met elkaar aan waarmee een interessante dwarsdoorsnede wordt gegeven van de hedendaagse beeldcultuur.

De expositie toont het werk van diverse hedendaagse kunstenaars, fotografen, vormgevers, filmmakers en illustratoren die hun oorsprong en inspiratie vinden in de hiphop, punk, skateboard, graffiti, game en andere subculturen.

Deelnemende exposanten zijn o.a.: Bruce Tsai Meu Chong, Willem Claassen, DEES, Michiel van der Zanden, Sander Polderman, Niels Bakkerus en natuurlijk de bezoekers van het Lowlands festival.

Tijdens het festival vindt er namelijk elke dag een door de galerie georganiseerde workshop plaats waarbij de bezoekers van het festival in staat worden gesteld input te leveren en zo een beeldende dialoog aan te gaan met de werken binnen deze interactieve multimediale expositie!

June 8 Foam Lab presents its first event called Coup. During Coup, Foam Lab takes over the last 24 hours of the exhibition Antiphotojournalism at photography museum Foam. There is a diverse line-up with guest speakers, music, a workshop and much more. The exhibition analyses the change in photojournalism today. The days that photojournalism could only be done by professionals are long gone; every citizen with a Smartphone and Internet connection can contribute to journalism.

Coup is about changing your view on Antiphotojournalism. The day starts off with a breakfast at 8 am joined by Hans Aarsman with a reading of the newspaper and interventions by street artist Sander Polderman, artist Joost Stokhof and film director Rogier Klomp amongst others. You can chat with photojournalists Arie Kievit and Dirk-Jan Visser or writer Sanne Rispens, make newspaper collages and a lot more. In the evening there are drinks and musical performances by Future Vintage and HOMEWORK.

The 8 of June, 00.00 – 24.00  @ Foam, Keizersgracht 609 in Amsterdam!
